Joel has been featured in the painting of Joelle Smith, Toyota Outfitters catalog, Cowboy Magazine, the World Champion Paint Horse Show program and poster, J.M. Capriola and Western Horseman. Click on the thumbnails below to see a larger image.
While working on a personal video at Vasquez Rocks, Toyota photographers asked Joel to be part of the shoot. His photo ended up on the cover and inside cover 2-page spread of the Outfitters 08 catalog. Joelle Smith first photographed Joel, then used the photo as inspiration for this painting in 1998, which later appeared on the cover of J.M. Capriola’s catalog.
Joel, along with his father and brother appeared on the program cover for the 1999 World Champion Pain Horse Show. This painting entitled Passing the Mantle was created by close friend Joelle Smith. Besides training horses, Joel is also a writer. One of his articles appeared in the Winter 2006 edition of Cowboy Magazine.
