Horsemanship 101

This two-day class covers beginning horsemanship, starting from the ground and working our way into the saddle. We begin day one with what is needed to gain control of the horse on the ground. This includes how to be safe when tying and tacking up. Ground work exercises prepare us for the saddle. Day two moves us into the saddle and begins with basic maneuvers such as moving the hindquarters and directing the head. We introduce speed control and initial spook management.
